The Tax Impact
Learn how the referendum would impact taxpayers in our district
A community investment in our schools
On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, Duluth School District residents will consider a capital projects levy to invest in upgraded classroom technology and curricula, digital infrastructure, and cyber and physical security throughout our schools.
If the referendum is approved, the capital projects levy will be supported by a tax increase on properties in our district. Owners of a $315,000 home — approximately the median value in our district — would see a monthly tax increase of $10.87 per month.
If approved by voters, the capital projects levy would automatically expire after 10 years and cannot be renewed without voter authorization.
